happymonsters:

It’s a picture - a series of pencil drawings - of “normal” vaginas.

Normal.

It really upsets me reading the comments in the notes when 99% of them - which is, say, at least a hundred - are saying the same thing: “EWWW YUCK GROSS I’D NEVER HAVE SEX IF I HAD THAT EWW LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE AN STD EW I’M GLAD MY VAG’S NORMAL-LOOKING EWW”

Real mature.

I’m sorry, but please grow the **** up and realize that more girls are born with visible labias than you think, and yeah, I’ll say it, mine’s not the most ~perfect~ one out there, and I used to not give a fuck about shallow societal standards of what’s perceived as beautiful or not, until I read through the notes and felt like a fucking monster.

Girls as young as 16 are having cosmetic plastic surgery on their ABSOLUTELY NORMAL AND NATURAL private parts because of people like you, because they’re told that their parts are monstrous, that they’re gross-looking and abnormal. “In the documentary a lot of girls talk about their vag-hatred stemming from teasing by peers, lovers, family, even medical professionals “

You can’t brag about a modern, open-minded society when behind all those anti-thinspo/anti-depression ads are people telling others that they’re disgusting monsters this way. Read through the notes of the post I linked (the title of this post) and you’ll see.

I normally don’t post anything so hostile, but seriously, Tumblr is better than this.

Amen!
